Cycling throughout India by Rajeev Joseph in 1985 to spread the message of 'National Integration'





Rajeev Joseph was the youngest cyclist (16 year old) in the Kerala State Team to travel by Bi-Cycle from Kerala to Delhi to participate in the Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort, New Delhi in 1985. The adventurous journey was a part of 'International Youth Year' and 'National Integration Program' organised by Nehru Yuvak Kendra, Govt. of India. The journey was flagged off by K.V. Nambiar, District Collector of Kannur on 20th July 1985 and Rajeev & his team members reached in Delhi on 13th August 1985 (23 days journey). After Independence Day Celebration at Red Fort, Rajeev and his friend C.K. Prabhakaran returned to Kerala by Cycle only. They started the journey from Delhi on 17th August, travelled 2900 kms. and they reached Kannur (Kerala State) on 26th August (10 days only)
